What does a neck lift cost? Will insurance pay for the cost of neck lift surgery in New Jersey? Can I get a neck lift and a facelift at the same time? Will I have neck lift scars? What will the neck lift recovery time be like?
When it comes to the cost of a neck lift, details about the procedure, and your overall neck lift options, it’s good to ask questions. In fact, we invite you to ask as many as you like! The more research you do and the better informed you are, the more likely it will be that your surgery is a success.
Of course, many of the questions we receive are quite common. And sometimes it can be helpful to read about them before even booking your consultation appointment. Below, we’ve listed a few of the cost-related and general procedure-related questions we regularly receive in regards to neck lift surgery.
If you plan on moving forward with this procedure, we still invite you to bring your questions along to your consultation appointment. But it may also be worthwhile to read through this Q&A ahead of time as well.
Neck Lift FAQs: Cost & Procedure Details
1. How much does a neck lift cost near me?
The cost of a neck lift varies depending on location, surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, extent and scope of surgical care and follow-up treatments, and other factors.
We advise all patients to book a consultation to get an accurate estimate. We are happy to meet with you in person to discuss your options and neck lift costs.
2. How much does a mini neck lift cost near me?
Mini neck lifts typically cost a bit less than traditional neck lift procedures. However, this isn’t necessarily true for every patient and every plastic surgery. If you have less excess skin to remove, the scope of the procedure may be less involved. Therefore, the average neck lift cost may be lower.
Sometimes, even a non surgical neck lift can be performed to tighten the neck skin and smooth wrinkles and fine lines. This almost always costs less. In the end, to get a mini neck lift cost average, we recommend booking a consultation appointment. Neck lift prices can vary greatly.
3. Are neck lifts covered by insurance?
Most plastic surgery procedures are cosmetic procedures. Therefore, they are not covered by health insurance because they’re not “medically necessary”. The same goes for neck lifts. You are certainly welcome to contact your health insurance provider to learn more about coverage for neck lift pricing if you wish.
4. What does a neck lift procedure entail?
A neck lift involves tightening the skin and underlying muscles of the neck to remove excess fat and sagging skin. Some people call excess skin on the neck having a “turkey neck”, and a neck lift will fix this problem.
Plastic surgeons perform neck lift surgery to achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance. Note that neck lift surgery is not the best surgical procedure for a double chin, which is usually caused by excess fat. To get rid of a double chin, the facial plastic surgery you need is likely chin liposuction.
5. Who is a good candidate for a neck lift?
A good candidate for a neck lift is someone with significant skin laxity and excess fat in the neck area. You should be in good physical health and be a non-smoker. If you do smoke, know that you should plan to stop smoking a few weeks prior to surgery and remain a non-smoker for a few weeks after surgery as you heal.
In some situations, certain patients may need to get additional blood tests or imaging scans in order to meet the necessary requirements for general anesthesia or the neck lift surgery itself.
6. Is it possible to combine a neck lift with other surgeries?
Definitely. Neck lifts are frequently combined with other procedures like facelifts or chin and neck liposuction as needed.
Naturally, the average cost of a combined surgery will be higher than the cost to remove excess skin alone. However, combining surgeries can ultimately save you money, and the combined recovery time will be reduced as well.
7. How long do neck lift results last?
Neck lift surgery is a popular cosmetic procedure, and many patients choose to undergo it every year. For most patients, procedure results last a long time — many years. Still, it’s worth noting that we cannot stop the aging process.
Over time, your skin will continue to sag, and you will continue to develop wrinkles and neck bands. If you are interested, you may choose to undergo follow up appointments from year to year and get revision treatments as needed.
